The Icelandic teaching app Bara tala implements the tourism vocabulary list

A conversation began between the managers Just talk and the Hæfnisetur tourism after the company was recognized as the Education Sprite of the Year. The Icelandic teaching app Just talk is based on artificial intelligence and language technology and provides good support to tourism staff who are taking the first steps in learning Icelandic.

It was agreed on the importance of promoting the increased use of Icelandic in tourism. Just talk has now implemented the Tourism Vocabulary List, which was developed by the Center for Competence in collaboration with tourism staff and tourism stakeholders. Glossaries and the posters will continue to be accessible to everyone here at höfni.is.

Work-related Icelandic studies for tourism companies

Recently, Berjaya Hotels and Center Hotels implemented the solution. The hotels, in collaboration with Just talk, develop customized work-related Icelandic learning and the content will then be available to other companies in Iceland that invest in the solution. This is an important step for foreign staff in the tourism industry to acquire vocabulary that is relevant to their work.
