The education day of the working life took place last week under the title Let's keep up - is the education system keeping up with the needs of the working world?

ELECTRICAL received the Norwegian Education Award. In 2019, the company began targeted and strategic work on staff education. The goal was and is to create a positive educational culture to promote excellent service and customer satisfaction. The recognition shows that this work has been successful.

The Icelandic teaching app Just talk was recognized as the Education Wand of the Year. The app was developed after the Prime Minister made a call last year that companies needed to show responsibility and offer Icelandic learning for their employees.

 "Icelandic with an accent is a symbol of courage," said Jón Gunnar, manager of Bara tala.

Tourism managers are encouraged to offer access to the app to their foreign staff to boost their confidence in the language. Today, 30 companies in Iceland along with 7 municipalities have implemented the solution. Companies can apply for funding from trade unions through the vocational training fund for subsidizing the subscription.
