Auk þess bjóðum við upp á starfstengd íslenskunámskeið fyrir fyrirtæki. MSS offers courses in Icelandic 1-5, courses focus on comprehension and spoken language, as well as writing, hearing, reading, and grammar is integrated into the curriculum. In addition, we offer vocational Icelandic courses for companies.

Farskólinn offers Icelandic courses in various weight levels, from Icelandic 1 to Icelandic 4. Focus is on fundamental skills like the alphabet, pronounciation and basic vocabulary. These courses cover speaking, understanding, reading and writing basic sentences, and introduce fundamental grammar in a practical way.

Icelandic in a nut shell
Icelandic in a nutshell At Mímir Lifelong Learning Centre, a practical micro-course in Icelandic is now available that could be a good fit for people working in tourist service. Icelandic in a nutshell is a practical micro-course (6 hours), especially designed for people who work in tourism or catering and want to start learning Icelandic. During the course, people learn common words and simple sentences such as greetings and the numbers. Common phrases and fun Icelandic words are also taught that can be used in communication, both with domestic and foreign tourists and in everyday life. Participants also gain insight into common customs in Icelandic society and information on ways to continue learning Icelandic. The course is an on-line course. It is taught twice, three hours at a time, a total of 6 hours. Dates are 21st and 23rd September 2026. The course uses a variety of materials and active student participation to ensure effective and enjoyable learning in Icelandic. Most unions subsidize Icelandic courses for their members.

Play Your Way to Iceland
Welcome to Play Your Way to Iceland! This is a free educational platform for all those who want to learn about Iceland, its language, and its culture. This program consists of two modules: Icelandic Language and Icelandic Culture. Each module consists of 10 lessons. The Icelandic Language module was designed for beginners and is part of a course for level A1. After successful completion of all the lessons in both modules, you will not only be knowledgeable in the areas of Icelandic history, geography, traditions, education, and many others, but you will also be able to receive a digital certificate confirming that you have completed 10 lessons of Icelandic Culture or Icelandic Language at level A1!

Mímir býður upp á gott úrval íslenskunáms. Þú getur valið um mismunandi erfiðleikastig frá 1 – 5 allt árið. Möguleiki á að fá stöðumat áður en námskeið hefst. Námið er kennt bæði á staðnum og í gegnum netið. Mímir offers a good selection of Icelandic studies. You can choose from different difficulty levels from 1 – 5 throughout the year. You can get a skills assessment before the course starts. Courses are taught both on-site and online.

Íslenskunám / Icelandic Lessons
Fjölbreytt íslenskunámskeið eru kennd í Dósaverksmiðjunni í Reykjavík. Námskeið eru haldin á morgnana, kvöldin og fyrir fólk sem vinnur 2-2-3 vaktir. Við bjóðum upp á námskeið frá 1. – 8. stigi og í kennslunni er lögð áhersla á talþáttinn á öllum stigum námsins. A variety of Icelandic courses are taught at the Tin Can Factory in Reykjavík. Courses are conducted in the mornings, evenings and for people working 2-2-3 shifts. We offer courses from level 1 – 8 with focus on spoken language in all levels .

Icelandic Online PLUS
Icelandic Online PLUS is a distance learning course that covers the main aspects of Icelandic grammar and all four language skills (speaking, reading, listening, and writing). Participants receive individual feedback from their tutor on written exercises, instruction in grammar and vocabulary, and are invited to participate in weekly online live sessions to practice oral skills (see further information below). This is a self-directed online course, which means you can study whenever and wherever you like as long as you have an internet connection. Icelandic Online PLUS is based on the free, open-access course Icelandic Online, so registering for the free course will provide a good idea of how PLUS works. However, PLUS includes additional assignments, individual feedback, and live sessions with a tutor that the free Icelandic Online does not offer.
