The program is 90 units and is divided into a 40-unit core and a 50-unit specialty. The areas are Reception of guests, Baths, springs and reservoirs and Catering. Courses that are assessed by practical skills assessment shorten the course.
The program will begin in the first half of 2025. The program will be available to people who have completed a practical skills assessment. Real skills assessment and learning are available digitally and participation is independent of residence.
To have reached the age of 23 and to have worked for 3 years in tourism

Practical skills assessment is available in Icelandic and English
If you have worked in tourism in one of the fields covered by the course, you have gathered experience, knowledge and skills, and you have a role to play in the practical skills assessment. If the skills are present, they are confirmed with a practical skills assessment and the course is shortened accordingly. The result of a practical skills assessment has the same value as a formal study. See more here
