A journey with Generation Z – Education Morning with record participation 

The tourism education morning took place this morning in a live stream under the title "A journey with Generation Z"The discussion focused on how Generation Z, who lives and moves in a digital world, plans their travels, what expectations they have for experiences and services, and how the tourism industry can best serve them.  

The meeting was moderated by Sölvi Guðmundsson, Director of the Westfjords Marketing Office, and there was a record attendance at the meeting with nearly 200 guests. Four excellent speakers shared valuable knowledge:  Cat Frederiksen, a content creation expert at Digido – gave good advice on effective content creation on social media platforms like Tik Tok. Rognvaldur Mar Helgason at the North Iceland Marketing Office discussed the importance of companies having robust and up-to-date websites so that artificial intelligence, which is increasingly becoming an important travel advisor, can point to their services. Holly Keyser The owner of Skool Beans Cafe shared the unique success she has achieved in marketing her business through Instagram by emphasizing sincerity and credibility, premium service, and goodwill. 

Finally came Anna Steinsen owner of KVAN with a fun insight into the generational gap. She highlighted how Generation Z thinks about communication and service and emphasized that companies and managers need to understand the expectations and behaviors of younger generations and future customers in order to create experiences that speak to them.
